Mackenzie Russell

English Instructor

A.B., Princeton University
Ph.D., Stanford University

Mackenzie Russell holds an A.B. in Comparative Literature from Princeton University and a Ph.D., also in Comparative Literature, from Stanford University. Her specialty is Literature of the Americas, with a healthy dose of critical theory, and her research often explores questions of representation – and especially, its limits. Prior to OHS, she spent two years teaching for the Program in Writing and Rhetoric at Stanford, where her class, The Rhetoric of the Ghost Story, was a student favorite.

When not in the classroom, you can find her taking barre classes, reading thrillers, cooking, camping, and hanging out with her two dogs, Winston and Dougal, who both attend online school.
