Advanced Topics in Microeconomics is a semester-long course that explores a variety of topics in microeconomics at the post-AP or intermediate level while engaging students in the basic principles and practices of economic research. Students will gain a deeper understanding of microeconomics topics which may include the theoretical underpinning of supply and demand, game theory, bargain theory, the principal-agent problem, Pareto optimality, general equilibrium, experimental and empirical study design, and interpretation of data. Students will apply their knowledge of these topics by composing a significant research paper on a topic of their own choosing.
