Dr. D'Urso received her B.S. with Honors in Mathematics from the California Institute of Technology in 1998 and her Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2002. Since then she has worked on modeling Economics behavior at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and taught at the University of Pittsburgh and at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

Dr. D'Urso joined EPGY in 2010 as a Mathematics and Computer Science instructor. Her research interests include Experimental and Computational Economics and the structure of urban environments. In her work she links concepts in Economics, the Natural Sciences and other fields, such as Architecture, to understand human behavior. Dr. D'Urso is also a 3D-media and Ceramics artist.
