Clara Veronica Valdano is from Ecuador and has been living in the U.S since 2000. She received her MA and PhD degrees from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2012). Her specialization is Spanish American Literatures and Cultures.

Her approach is interdisciplinary and grounded in Cultural Studies, Visual Culture, Gender Studies, and Cultural Geography.  She has published and presented articles in Canada, the U.S, and Latin America about the Spanish American colonial period and Nineteenth century Andean literature.

She has taught for more than ten years in high schools, universities, and colleges.  Her passions are teaching and virtual education. She is always eager to learn new technological programs for teaching.

She also enjoys reading, meditation, drawing, dancing, going to nature, and walking with her spouse and dog. She has volunteered in dog shelters and she wants to study animal behavior!
