Occupational Health Services

Dedicated to Improving Care & Safety in the Workplace

Occupational Health Services of Stanford Hospital & Clinics, and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital offers a wide range of care and support services to members of our medical center community of employees. Those services range from preventive care and occupational health surveillance, to acute management of workplace injuries and illnesses.

Located at 1101 Welch Road; Suite C3 in front of the main hospital entrance, Stanford Occuaptional Health Services operates Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm. A satellite office is also located in the Boswell Building - A013 on the Ground Floor (Please note new location) and is open from 6:45am - 4:45pm.

Since September 2004, Occupational Health Services (OHS) has been undegoing major transformations and additions to make it a premier work-related service facility. Current programs include a Transitional Return to Work (TRTW) program which allows injured workers to continue to work and contribute to the operation of the medical center while at the same time attending to their medical condition. A comprehensive workplace Surveillance program is in place to screen workers against communicable diseases and vaccinate all those at risk; as well as address issues of hazards in the workplace (biohazards, chemotherapeutics, hearing conservation, and ergonomics).

Recently Stanford OHS added on-site occupational and physical therapy services to help coordinate and streamline the rehabilitation of our injured co-workers. Working directly with Stanford's Risk Management and hospital insurers, we have been able to improve on the typical delays in the authorization process for our Workers' Compensation claims.

Through a system of workplace and environmental prevention, early medical intervention and treatment, and a transitonal work program where required, Stanford OHS has been able to assist and improve a safe working environment for all our employees.
