2018 Stanford Online High School Graduates

Expect the Extraordinary

Stanford Online High School is an independent high school and middle school for academically talented students from around the world, offering flexible enrollment options to fit every student’s needs.

Upholding Stanford’s Values

Umar tried several school options, but he was not challenged until he found Stanford Online High School.

In his first year, Umar took just one math course; he enjoyed it so much that he returned the next year to take more math and physics, getting to know intellectually curious peers in interactive, real-time, college-style seminars. At age 11, he then took three courses at Stanford OHS, including Precalculus, a course normally reserved for high school juniors at other schools. Now age 14, he's enrolled full-time and exploring a range of courses from AP Statistics to AP Chemistry.

Umar found much more at Stanford OHS than challenging classes. He participates in Lego Club, creative writing, and math competitions, along with service activities—and even founded his own non-profit. Outside of Stanford OHS, he plays intensive squash and chess, participates in robotics and art, and is an active swimmer.
